AIAA at Berkeley is all about creating and strengthening the community for anyone passionate about aerospace. Read more about the club and how we conduct ourselves below!
The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) is the leading U.S. organization for advancing aerospace science and engineering. With a nationwide network, AIAA connects professionals, students, and academics through regional sections, conferences, and technical committees. It fosters collaboration and innovation in fields like aviation, space exploration, and defense. AIAA's events, publications, and educational programs support the growth of the aerospace community, driving technological advancements and shaping the industry's future.
Aerospace Engineering is a fairly new major at Berkeley, with the original cohort expected to graduate in 2026. With that came a load of challenges and a lack of tailored material/help for Aerospace Engineers. To combat these struggles and ensure that AE majors (and anyone else interested) get the proper resources, we compiled a database of some of the most helpful items we could think of. We also hope that through this site, the Aerospace Community will be more connected and able to share their interests, and hopefully the site will live on long after the original cohort.
The Design/Build/Fly (DBF) team, sponsored by AIAA, offers students hands-on experience in the complete aircraft design process, from concept to flight. Being part of the team allows students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world scenarios, sharpening their engineering, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. The competitive nature of DBF challenges participants to think critically and innovate under pressure, while fostering collaboration and leadership. Students gain valuable insights into project management, manufacturing techniques, and aerodynamics, making the experience an excellent foundation for careers in aerospace and related fields.
The Berkeley chapter of AIAA is a close-knit community of passionate and driven students united by their interest in aerospace engineering and technology. AIAA takes a collective interest in the stars and creates amazing bonds between members based on their passion and curiosity. The chapter emphasizes mentorship, leadership development, and networking, while also building lifelong connections within the aerospace community. There’s a spot for everyone in space!
Any and all majors are welcome and encouraged to join our rapidly growing club. The only thing we’ll ever ask for is a curiosity to learn and a passion for any sector of the aerospace industry.
Hey everyone! I’m the current president of AIAA at Berkeley, and was one of the founding members. Together with the executive committee, we're responsible for making sure the club is running smoothly and we assist in the development of committees. We mainly manage the finance, social media, and administrative side of the organization. I really like boba and have done a bunch of very random stuff (performed in Carnegie Hall, flown gliders, gone backpacking on Santa Rosa Island).
Hi! I’m a third-year Aerospace Engineering student, and I’m currently in charge of creating this website. I also am currently an intern at the Space Sciences Laboratory and am involved with social clubs at Berkeley. When I’m not doing all of that or homework, I love to hike, hit the beach, and play 2k. Feel free to reach out to me if you’d like to join the website team at [email protected]!
As the Professional Development Committee Director, my goal is to enhance professional skills and career readiness. With the help of my officers, I aim to host workshops and other learning events for students to immerse themselves in the industry side of Aerospace and feel more confident in their ability to succeed. Outside of this, I enjoy going to the gym, boxing, cooking, and spending time with my friends! My music taste is pretty varied, but my top genres would be house, RnB, and Indie music.
Hey everyone, I’m Jaden!
Hey everyone!
